RYA Multi Day Practical (Hobart)

RYA Practical Courses

We usually meet on the first day of the course at Derwent Lane Wharf:

We will meet at 10 am on the first day of your course and 9am thereafter if you’re staying ashore. We are usually on the water until 5pm each day except the final day of a 5 day course, where we usually end by 3pm.

Most courses have one night sail and we usually do this on Thursday evenings where we finish at 9.30pm.

Please bring a sun hat, sun glasses and sun cream. You will also need a beanie, waterproof coat and waterproof trousers for your course (hillwalking gear is usually good enough). A water bottle would also be useful so that you can stay hydrated. Please bring a sleeping bag and we will supply pillows and sheets.

All lunches, tea and coffee will be provided, as well as dinner on the day of your evening passage. If you’ve chosen to be on overnight then dinner will be provided. Please let me know if you have any dietary requirements or preferences well before your course (I’m a vegetarian so can cater for that easily).

Please wear non marking shoes for your course and a head torch would be handy if we are out at night, but isn’t compulsory.

Please let me know if you are running late any day on 0410 059 070 and also let me know as soon as possible if you need to leave early at any point during the week so that we can plan around these things.

Please be well rested before your course and the more homework you can do in advance of the course, the more you will get out of it.

In the mean time, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need any further information.

All the best,

Jason Cummings
